Jeem
Update from The Jeem Report
Yes, yes, it’s really The Jim Report. But, to me, he’ll always be Jeem, so there! Why am I writing about this person you may or may not know? Well, for one, he’s awesome! And, for two, he’s about to be published!
For those who don’t know, Jim was famous at Nocturna (now defunct *cry cry*) for his monologues. As he’s moved from place to place he’s continued his monologue tradition and they’ve continued to entertain the masses. How did this happen? Well, from the Jim Report mailing list:
A little while ago I was approached by the editor of the Main Street Rag Publishing Company, a local publishing house that usually does poetry chapbooks and the like. After seeing me perform a number of the monologues he asked if I would like to do a book. After picking my jaw up off the floor, I readily agreed!
The book has just gone into pre-order, which means folks can start reserving copies now! The cover price, when it’s printed, will be $14 (plus S&H), but anyone who pre-orders it will be able to get it for $9 (plus S&H).
If you’re interested, you can see the book’s description and order it here: http://www.mainstreetrag.com/JRyan.html
I’m ridiculously pleased about the whole thing. The title of the book is ABDUCTION ETIQUETTE, which is also the name of one of the monologues (one I haven’t performed very often, but which, as it turns out, the publisher really likes). With any luck, it should be in print by late August!
At the risk of sounding like a proud parent, I’m SO PROUD of Jim!!! He’s written so much throughout the years and I’m thrilled to see a publisher recognize his talent. It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. I cherish my super secret copy of monologues which (I swear) looks like it was printed out on a daisy wheel printer. Mine mine mine!! muah ha ha ha! (:
While I’m pimping Jim out, I may as well mention his other ventures. So, if you just can’t get enough Jim, follow him, read him, friend him, link him, and see him all of a sudden™ at:

The Great Debate and Every World News
Back in the 90′s, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a coffee shop in Myrtle Beach called Nocturna. The regulars there were some of the most creative people in the area and quite inspiring. I can honestly say that it is, in part, because of their confidence in me that I eventually created a²alien.
One of my Nocturna friends, Jeem the Master Thespian (as I like to think of him), has recently created a couple of podcasts. From the Jim Report, his bi-yearly newsletter:
In any case, I’ve started to do two audio podcasts (internet radio shows). The first is The Great Debate! It’s a comedy show about role-playing games in which I essentially have a debate with myself. By that I mean that I have two RPG characters argue with each other in a debate show format. I play most of the characters and moderate the debates as myself. I find it amusing, anyway. If you’re interested in checking it out, you can find it at: http://www.rpgdebate.com/
The second is also a comedy podcast and it’s called the Every World News. This one’s a bit more ambitious. It’s a half-hour fake news show in which I and various other characters report news stories from a number of alternate realities, mostly inspired by different brands of speculative fiction. This one has a full cast consisting of a bunch of my friends in addition to myself. I’ve only released the first episode so far but if I can get everything in gear I’m hoping to be able to put one out every month or so. You can find that one at: http://www.everyworldnews.com/
So, add these to your favourite podcatcher and have a listen.
